Developed to support public-facing communication around healthier, more sustainable cities
Overview
Created as part of the wider C40 series, Towards a Healthier World communicated the links between urban sustainability, health and quality of life. The project needed to present policy-led thinking in a way that felt accessible, relevant and engaging to wider audiences, while still supporting the strategic aims of the initiative.
The Challenge
The challenge was to translate complex environmental and policy themes into a communication piece that could connect with non-technical audiences. The content needed to feel informative and credible, while also making the human value of cleaner, healthier cities more visible and compelling.
The Approach
I developed a visual communication approach that combined editorial structure, clear information hierarchy and accessible graphic storytelling. The layouts were designed to guide readers through the key themes in a way that felt digestible and visually engaging, helping simplify complex ideas without stripping away their meaning.
Working within the wider visual language of the C40 series, the design balanced consistency with a more human and public-facing tone, supporting stronger connection between the content, the audience and the broader purpose of the work.
The Outcome
The result was a clearer and more engaging communication piece that helped frame sustainability through the lens of health, people and everyday urban life. By making the content more approachable and visually coherent, the work supported wider understanding of the initiative and its relevance to public audiences.
