Designed to align project goals with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Overview
Brent Cross South set out an ambitious vision for a new net zero carbon neighbourhood where people, nature and the planet could thrive together. The project involved supporting the sustainability team in translating a detailed strategy into a clearer and more engaging report that reflected the scale of that vision.
The Challenge
The strategy contained a substantial amount of information, including principles, goals, actions, KPIs and wider policy alignment. The challenge was to structure this material in a way that made the overall framework easier to understand, while also helping different audiences navigate the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
The Approach
I developed a visual framework built around the project’s five core goals, creating a wheel that brought together its principles, ambitions and leading outcomes in a single, accessible system. This framework was then broken down into more detailed segments, allowing the report to communicate specific actions, KPIs and links to the UN Sustainable Development Goals in a way that felt more digestible and connected.
Alongside this, I designed additional infographics to clarify more detailed parts of the strategy, including a timeline that helped position the development within the wider UK and London policy landscape. The overall aim was to turn a dense sustainability document into a clearer communication tool that could support understanding, alignment and engagement.
The Outcome
The result was a more structured and visually coherent sustainability report that made a complex strategy easier to follow and communicate. By translating the material into a stronger narrative and information system, the work helped support a clearer understanding of the project’s net zero ambitions and the pathway behind them.
