Overview
This project involved working with GIS and Digital Integration teams to support the development of a Digital Twin app. My role focused on shaping the user experience, creating a prototype and interface system that made the platform’s tools easier to navigate, understand and use.
The Challenge
The challenge was to bring greater clarity and consistency to a complex digital product with multiple tools, datasets and functions. The platform needed a more considered user journey so that its capabilities felt intuitive rather than fragmented, while also creating a stronger visual and interaction framework across the wider experience.
The Approach
I developed a prototype that mapped a clearer journey through the app, helping organise the available tools into a more usable and purposeful experience. Alongside this, I contributed to a design system that aligned the interface more closely with the wider visual identity while setting clearer standards for layout, interaction and consistency.
The aim was not only to improve the immediate product experience, but also to create a stronger foundation for future digital outputs and a more coherent way of engaging with complex spatial and infrastructure data.
The Outcome
The result was a more structured and user-centred experience for the Digital Twin app, supported by a design system that helped improve usability, consistency and overall quality. The work provided a clearer framework for how the platform could evolve while giving teams a more unified basis for future development.
